Woman stole money from female lovers by posing as superhuman policeman

A WOMAN will be prosecuted for fraud for stealing over 120,000 yuan (US$19,788) from two female lovers after disguising herself as a man and claiming to be an international police officer and high government official with special powers of invisibility, The Beijing News reported.

The 54-year-old woman surnamed Yang also was accused of stealing 4,000 from a senior citizen she had promised to help. Yang was handed over to Beijing prosecutors after her crimes were investigated, the report said.

Yang disguised herself as a man surnamed Li with fake identity papers and joined an online QQ group for middle-aged people to make friends.

Yang wooed the two women, moving in with one of them and having sex with a victim surnamed Zhang using dildos she bought online, the newspaper said.

It was not the first time Yang had been in trouble. She had been in prison for 11 years for fraud, according to a statement from prosecutors.

After her release, Yang was unemployed and decided to return to fraud to support herself, officials said.

Yang, disguised as Li, got to know Zhang, 48, in March and told Zhang she was a cadre of the finance ministry as well as an international police officer with special powers, the Beijing News reported.

Zhang fell in love with Yang and the two moved in together three months later. Yang borrowed 120,000 yuan from Zhang using multiple excuses, such as having “his” wallet stolen and needing to host international friends, the report said. But Yang never paid back the money.

Yang broke off contact with Zhang in August, telling Zhang that “he” was being investigated by the authorities. Zhang was suspicious and went to the Ministry of Finance, requesting information about the person she knew as Li. She went to the police after being told that her “boyfriend” did not exist.

Zhang found out Yang was a woman only when she was called to help with the investigation after Yang was caught by police.

Yang also had stolen a laptop from a 52-year-old female lover surnamed Song, the report said. And she also stands accused of defrauding a senior of 4,000 yuan after promising to help the person.
