Volunteers’ help on the way after online photos expose miserable life of boy, 7, believed to be left by family to live with pigs and eat swill for years

A lot of attention online has been recently attracted to the photos posted online by anonymous netizens that exposed the tragic life of a seven-year-old boy in a Chinese village. He is believed to have been left to live in the mud with pigs by his poverty-stricken family.

Tens of thousands of Netizens have left comments online calling for help for the boy.

Nearly half naked in ragged clothing, the boy appears in the photo with a face and body all covered in dirt and mud. However, despite all circumstances, through that gloominess of his life and the miserable situation he is in, there is a smile hidden underneath the layers of dirt.

The boy could hardly speak and has been left alone although sometimes he is on his father's swill carter and other times left to stay in the corner outside the family's shabby house, the People's Daily Online reported.

Villagers stated that his father is the only person who works and every day, the family is forced to find leftovers to eat from the swill, which the father pulls back home with the carter. The rest of the swill is used to feed the pig, the report said.

The villagers reportedly said they had hardly ever seen the family allow the boy to sleep inside their shabby house. He was left to sleep outside, even in freezing cold. His mother was reported to suffer from mental disorders and would beat him up when he slept on the bed. Villagers further added that the woman had given birth to five children and the boy and another child were the only siblings that had survived. The other child was taken away by a relative, the report said.

Some volunteers had already come to help the boy after knowing the story.
