Suspect in brutal slayings of 2 sisters caught in Hangzhou

A MAN suspected of killing his two nieces in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, was caught by police this morning, local media reported.

The victims, sisters 6 and 11 years old, were found by their mother to have been hacked to death at home around noon Sunday. The 55 year-old suspected killer, surnamed Zang, was said to be wearing a black t-shirt and green shoes while running away. Police officers managed to capture him beside a railway line about 5am today in Yuhang District of Hangzhou after offering a reward up to 50,000 RMB for clues.

It was not immediately known if the reward led directly to the capture.

The two girls lived with their mother in a slum, and she was reportedly away when the slayings occurred.
