Man apologizes after pulling female driver out of car and violently beating her in road rage drama

A Chinese man in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, has been detained after he beat up a female driver because her dangerous driving scared his wife and child.

The man, surnamed Zhang, pursued the woman, surnamed Lu for several miles after claiming she had suddenly cut him off on motorway several times and frightened his family.

A video clip from Zhang’s camrecorder installed in his car was released online. The video showed Lu, in her 20s, cut him off twice on a motorway in Chengdu, in southwest China’s Sichuan Province.

Zhang’s wife and child were also in the car. Cries of the child can be heard in the video. The female driver was also seen stopping her car once and yelling at the man but what she was saying could not be clearly heard.

Zhang finally forced Lu to the side of the road, pulled her out of her car and repeatedly kicked her several times and beat her including threw her to the ground.

Lu suffered broken ribs and concussion, but she is now in stable condition at hospital.

Zhang was later detained by police. He also apologized to Lu, saying he was very regretful, and telling other not to resort to violence in such cases.
