Growing business for post office: Students mailing dirty laundry to mom
CHINA’S post office has found a growing revenue stream: College students who mail their clothes back home for their parents to wash.
It’s a business that the government hopes to find ways to make more convenient and tailored to different customer needs, said Liu Liangyi, deputy director of the market supervision department of the State Post Bureau. Liu spoke during an online interview during the annual session of the National People’s Congress in Beijing, according to www.cctv.com.
Laundry deliveries are a major part of the courier services used at China’s colleges, Liu said. The service often is cheaper than having a local laundry service wash students’ clothes.
