Another man held over bird flu rumors
A man from northeast China’s Liaoning Province has been detained by police after he allegedly spread rumors about H7N9 bird flu.
The man from the provincial capital Shenyang is said to have posted a report on the Sina Weibo microblogging site that Liaoning’s first H7N9 case was a man who had eaten a snack of chicken feet. A police investigation revealed the rumor to be false.
Liaoning has not reported any human H7N9 cases so far this year.
On Sunday, a man from north China’s Shanxi Province was detained for spreading H7N9 rumors.
