AIR quality in August in 74 cities was better than in the same month last year, the environment ministry said yesterday.
The cities reported pollution on 20 percent of the days last month, down from 33 percent in August 2013.
Beijing and 12 neighboring cities in north China’s notoriously smoggy Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region on average experienced air pollution on 42 percent of the days, down from 65 percent of last year, but still above the average.
