Dad Throws Daughter From 3rd Floor To Escape Building Fire

It took the father a courage equal to a third-floor leap to throw her 3-year-old little daughter from the third floor so as to escape a fire that could have gutted them all.

The video of the incident was widely shared on social media recently.

The incident happened in Wenzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, where a residential building caught fire at around 7 am on June 5, Wenzhou City News reported.

The man surnamed Han, who lived on the third floor, was asleep that morning when he got waken up by noise outside of people shouting "Fire! Fire!"

As the corridor was choked with smoke, Han decided to escape by jumping off the burning building instead of taking stairs.

He ran to the balcony with his wife and daughter and threw a mattress downstairs.

In the footage, Han could be seen throwing his daughter from the third floor into the mattress which some neighbors held below. The little girl landed safely.

Then Han climbed down the balcony and jumped on the mattress safely.

According to the report, before neighbors came, his wife had jumped off. She suffered minor injuries in her waist.

Firefighters arrived at the scene around 7:30am and put out the fire in about 30 minutes. All the residents caught in the fire were rescued.

According to preliminary investigation, the fire broke out from Room 203 whose tenant is a Taobao shop owner. The fire started in the living room which stored a lot of goods and packages.

The cause of the incident was still under investigation.
