DIY Transfusion Device Becomes Internet Sensation
A set of photos of a DIY transfusion device made by an old man named Yang Duxue has gone viral online.
With the help of the device, Yang, 65, can take care of his 63-year-old wife Wan Qijia, who has been paralyzed for 13 years, during his transfusions.
A web user took pictures of Yang looking after his wife her tricycle with a transfusion bag over his head in front of a hospital in Chongqing and uploaded them on Weibo. The photos were applauded over the Internet. Web users were all moved by Yang’s love for his wife.
The DIY transfusion device was made from a big plastic jar. Yang drilled a hole on opposite sides and fixed it over his head by strings. A simple hood on the top made by iron wire was designed to hold transfusion bag.
Yang suffers from lumbar disc herniation, and requires transfusions as a part of his treatment. With the device, he can still care for his wife during his transfusions.
