Australia shows off its educational offerings

THE many Chinese students who wish to study abroad will have an opportunity to look over the extensive range of attractive Australian study options at the 14th China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET).

Representatives of around 40 Australian educational providers from all over Australia, including some of Australia's finest universities, vocational institutes, English language colleges and secondary schools, will participate in the tour to discuss options and the benefits of Australian education with prospective students.

Australia is a popular destination for students from all over the world seeking a high-quality overseas study experience. Australia is recognized internationally for its high quality, innovative study options. China is now one of the largest sources of overseas students in Australia. There were approximately 80,000 Chinese students in Australia on student visas by September 30, 2008.

The Australian Trade Commission and Australian Education International will join forces to coordinate an Australian National Pavilion in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, and will attend the show in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.

The Shanghai exhibition will be held at the Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center from 10am to 4:30pm on Saturday and Sunday.

A series of information seminars will be held during the exhibitions covering course structures, tuition fees, study environment, accommodation, graduate employment opportunities, and visa issues. There will be an opportunity for question and answer sessions after each presentation.

Committed to continued support to the Australian Education Exhibition and Australian educational institutions, CPA Australia, Australia's largest professional accounting body, will be present at the show to offer advice on the selection of CPA Australia's accredited programs and its member admission policy to students who are interested in pursuing study in finance and accounting in Australia.

Supporting the Australian Pavilion with advice to prospective students on managing fee transfers and other financial matters will be the Westpac Banking Corporation, which is Australia's first bank and its first corporation. Founded in 1817, Westpac has over 190 years of experience in providing high-quality, complex and innovative financial solutions. Westpac's Migrant Services Asia was established in January 2005 to provide seamless banking services to investors, migrants and international students who are moving to Australia from Asia.
