Welfare group opens advertisement contest

ANIMALS Asia, an animal welfare foundation, recently announced the launch of its latest charity advertisement competition. This year’s theme is to dissuade the public from dining on small animals.
The campaign aims to expose the illegal behaviors and food safety hazards associated with eating cats and dogs, as well as the controversial chains behind the cat- and dog-meat industry, the organization said on its website.
Applicants can submit advertisements through June 30. The first prize winner will be awarded a chance to visit Longqiao Moon Bear Protection Center in Chengdu, the largest animal protection center of its kind in China.
