The latest looks hit Parisian catwalks
Balmain
Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing showcased the sexual power of the strong, independent woman in his no-holds-barred styles at the Thursday afternoon show in Paris.
Malachite green, golden sienna, Egyptian blue and white were the main colors featured in the collection.
Strapped, cinched waists and square belt buckles followed diagonal bands across the torso and huge metal neck-plates evoked a war princess. Slits and meshes, meanwhile, exposed sections of delicate skin.
Chanel
The sky was the limit in Karl Lagerfeld's aviation-themed Chanel show on Tuesday, which saw an entire airport re-created under the lofty expanse of Paris' Grand Palais.
The 95 diverse ready-to-wear looks riffed off the voyaging theme — with blue, red and white sweaters slung around shoulders, dresses printed with electronic passenger data, comfy check sandals, and bejeweled Chanel suitcases that will literally fly off the shelves.
There were even comfy 1970s flared jeans.
Stella McCartney
Stella McCartney’s ready-to-wear collection exploded on Monday morning with color, stripes and movement.
Bold, masculine checks in fluid silhouettes opened — with a gentler feminine edge provided by subtle plays on transparencies.
The collection packed several creative flourishes — a gray pants look with a frontal peplum with floor-grazing kinetic black tassels. Elsewhere, a beautiful revealing black gown was made using transparent eyelet embroidery.
