Children's book fair opens up new avenues for kids to explore

THE Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair opens this Thursday. The fair is expected to attract more than 250 exhibitors from about 25 countries, among which major global and Chinese publishing houses will be present. More than 50,000 children’s books in both Chinese and English will be available.

The three-day event includes various public activities such as autograph sessions, an illustrations and comic exhibition, storytelling contests, workshops and performances. They offer children under 16 a chance to enjoy themselves and learn at the same time.

Famed authors and illustrators such as Roger Mello, a Hans Christian Andersen Award winning illustrator, and Chinese sci-fi writer Liu Cixin will meet with fans and sign autographs. Trade visitors can pre-register on www.ccbookfair.com. All others need to get tickets at the venue.
