9-Ball China Open

THE 2016 World 9-Ball China Open will be held from August 21 to 28, featuring players from over 30 countries and regions, organizers said yesterday.

Coming into its eighth year, the event, for the first time, will holds its main matches in Pudong New Area’s Tangzhen, a county where billiards has been traditionally popular. Pudong’s Yuanshen Stadium was the main host for the past seven editions. The preliminary round of this year’s event will be held on August 21-23 in venues in Zhabei and Minhang districts. The major competitions to be held at Tangzhen Culture and Sports Center on August 25-28 will feature 64 male and 48 female players, including China’s Chen Siming, Liu Shasha, and Han Yu; South Korean player Kim Ga-young; Allison Fisher from Britain; and Jasmin Ouschan of Austria. With total prize money of US$373,600, male and female winners will pocket US$40,000 and US$36,000, respectively.
