A GALAXY of star names, including two Olympic champions, will attend this year’s Mission Hills World Celebrity Pro-Am in China’s Hainan Province from October 24-26.
Russian ice skater Evgeni Plushenko and Chinese gymnast Li Ning will lead the squad and will be joined by former Portuguese international footballer Luis Figo. Former NBA star Yao Ming is taking part in the tournament for the second time. Top golfers who have confirmed their participation for the event include 2013 US Open champion Justin Rose, Ian Poulter, multiple Major winners Gary Player, former Open Championship winner Darren Clarke and Europe’s 2014 Ryder Cup captain, Paul McGinley.
Apart from sports icons, Oscar winners Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman are also in line to show up at the event along with Hollywood heartthrob Chris Evans. Actress Jessica Alba is coming, as is saxophonist Kenny G. Part of the proceeds will be donated to charity organizations like World Wildlife Fund and Yao Ming Fund.
