THE Granfondo Grand Perseverance concluded in Yixian County near Yellow Mountain in east China’s Anhui Province yesterday.
The two-day cycling event — one of 10 stops of the 2015 Skoda HEROS China Cycling Series — attracted around 600 cyclists from 14 countries and regions. Granfondo is a long-distance road race, and the two-day competition covered a total distance of 175 kilometers and 1,100 meters of vertical climbing. The Skoda HEROS China Cycling Series, launched this year, combines several existing cycling events. Seven of the 10 races are held in Shanghai from March to October. After the Yixian County leg, the next Granfondo race will be held at Wuyi Mountain, Fujian Province, in November. The top-three finishers of the men’s elite group of the Granfondo Grand Perseverance were Ding Yong, Zeng Qinglong and Hu Hao, with the top three women cyclists being Zhang Junying, Liao Binbin and Wang Xueli.
