Farrar takes stage
AMERICAN veteran Tyler Farrar got his long-awaited win at the 176-kilometer third stage of the Tour of Beijing yesterday.
Farrar said it has been “a year of seconds and thirds and fourths so to finally win ... I’m really happy”. The Garmin-Sharp rider, who finished third in the first stage, clocked 4 hours, 15 minutes, 46 seconds. Luka Mezgec was second at the Qianjiadian Chao Yang Temple finish line. Belgian Philippe Gilbert retained the overall lead.
