Sri Lanka reeling

Sri Lanka was in deep trouble in the first test against India as it lost both openers without scoring and finished on five for two at stumps on day two in Galle yesterday.

After India took a first innings lead of 192 runs, Sri Lanka had to face four overs before the end of play. Captain Virat Kohli surprised many by starting with spin from both ends and that proved to be a masterstroke. Dimuth Karunaratne was bowled in the first over by off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin while Kaushal Silva departed in the next over bowled by leg-spinner Amit Mishra. India’s total of 375 all out was thanks to centuries by Shikhar Dhawan (134) and Kohli (103).
