Dravid, Mahela in ICC panel
INDIA’S Rahul Dravid and Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene have been appointed to the cricket committee of the International Cricket Council.
The world cricket body said the two retired former captains have been appointed for three years each and will attend their first meeting at Lord’s in London on May 31 and June 1. Dravid and former Australia offspinner Tim May have been elected by the current test captains as current player representatives replacing Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara and India’s Laxman Sivaramakrishnan. Jayawardene replaced former Australia captain Mark Taylor and joins former England captain Andrew Strauss as a past player representative. Former India captain Anil Kumble got a three-year extension as chairman of the committee.
