CAFL heads to Guangzhou for the fourth round
THE China Arena Football League (CAFL) heads to Guangzhou, capital of southern Guangdong Province, this weekend — the fourth stop in its debut season.
It will play three matches at the Guangzhou Gymnasium — Beijing Lions will take on Dalian Dragon Kings on Saturday at 2pm. It will be followed by a game between Qingdao Clippers and Shanghai Skywalkers at 7pm. On Sunday, hosts Guangzhou Power will play Shenzhen Naja at 3pm.
American Chinese player Wang Wei, the younger brother of former NFL offensive tackle Edward Wang, will play for Guangzhou. Edward Wang was the first full-blooded Chinese player to be drafted and then play in the NFL.
After the three rounds, Beijing leads the standing with three victories, followed by Qingdao and Shanghai. The two best performing teams will complete for the “China Bowl” title in Shanghai next month.
