WDSF Grand Slam Final to be held in Shanghai

WORLD’S top ranked dancers attended the Red Carpet Ceremony of 2016 WDSF Grand Slam Final (Standard & Latin) in Shanghai yesterday, ahead of the two-day tournament to be held today and tomorrow.
Twelve top ranked pairs in Standard and 12 pairs in Latin, as well two pairs of Chinese wildcards — Zhao Peng/Wang Qi and Yan Bangbang/Zhu Jing – will be competing at Luwan Stadium. They earned their entry to the Shanghai event after clinching points at the previous five stops in Finland’s Helsinki, China’s Wuhan and Hong Kong, Germany’s Stuttgart and Spain’s Platja d’Aro.
Ten pairs of young Chinese dancers (between the age of 6 and 14) also walked on the red carpet with the star dancers. They were selected from local training organizations and are seen as “future stars” by Shanghai DanceSport Federation.
China DanceSport national and Olympic team selections will also be held during the weekend. They will represent China in WDSF competitions next year.
