Four more drugs of problem drugmaker unsafe

ANOTHER four medications, including a drug meant for children, produced by Qiqihar No. 2 Pharmaceutical Co have tested positive for the same toxic chemical as their previously banned medication, Xinhua news agency said today, citing the Heilongjiang Food and Drug Administration.
Authorities said the drugmaker bought almost 1 ton of chemicals labeled propylene glycol, which was made at Taixing Chemical Factory, last September, but the chemical was actually diethylene glycol, a poisonous industrial-grade substance.
Last week, the State Food and Drug Administration recalled all of the products made by the drugmaker, after discovering their drug Armillarisin A was causing serious harm to patients.
Five people have died from using the tainted drug.
