6 years sentence for China Telecom boss

CHANG Xiaobing, former chairman of China Telecom, was yesterday sentenced to six years in prison for graft.

The Intermediate People’s Court of Baoding City also fined Chang 500,000 yuan (US$72,850) and confiscated his illicit gains.

Chang is accused of taking advantage of his post as a telecom official and chairman of China Unicom to seek benefits between 1998 and 2014.
