Man who tried to extort money from his ex-girlfriend, arrested

A MAN accused of using sex videos to extort 10,000 yuan (US$1,454) from his ex-girlfriend has been arrested for extortion, Minhang District prosecutors said.
The suspect, surnamed Ye, 30, lived a poor life, and came up with the idea of extorting money from his ex-girlfriend, surnamed Wang, who married another man.
On January, Ye posted a sex video clip of Wang on the Internet, and tried to extort money from her. Wang transferred 10,000 yuan to Ye and then called the police.
Ye was caught soon after, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said Ye had been previously jailed for three years for robbery.
