‘China Hour' launched on UK's Sky TV to broadcast China-made programs
CHINESE program time slot "China Hour" was launched today on UK's Sky TV as an event of "The Fourth Meeting of China-UK High-Level People-to-People Dialogue."
It is a new broadcasting platform of original Chinese programs to promote cultural relations between the two countries. For two hours every day, "China Hour" broadcasts English-dubbed Chinese documentaries, animated films, tourism and cultural programs.
It is expected to reach more than 12 million Sky TV viewers and 3 million free satellite and IPTV users in UK.
Since its test airing in October, documentaries such as "A Bite of China," "The Summer Palace," "The Forbidden City" as "Silk Road" have been showcased and received hails from British audiences.
Prior to its launch in UK, "China Hour" has been set up in South Africa, Nepal and Vietnam. Next year there are also plans to launch the time slot in Russia, Serbia and Myanmar.
