促进在经贸教育等领域合作 杨雄会见爱沙尼亚总理一行

SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas on Monday.

Yang said that China-Estonia relation develops soundly. Shanghai and Estonia have cooperated much especially in university exchanges, which has laid a solid foundation for further cooperation.

Yang continued that Shanghai is actively participating in the “One Belt, One Road” initiative and is keen to cooperate with Estonia and other countries.

He said Shanghai progresses smoothly in its efforts to become an international economic, financial, trade and shipping center. The construction of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone has greatly facilitated trade and investment as well as the financial reform, which created a more international, market-oriented and legal business environment for economic and trade cooperation between Shanghai and Estonia.

Yang pledged that the prime minister’s participation of China-Central and Eastern European Countries Leaders Conference and visit to Shanghai will further promote the friendly ties between China and Estonia as well as Shanghai and Estonia and boost cooperation in fields like economy, trade, education, tourism and creative industry.

Rõivas said that Shanghai is a dynamic city and has achieved fast development in the past decades and so has Estonia.

He expected that Estonia can have more concrete cooperation with Shanghai.

The Estonian Ambassador to China Toomas Lukk joined the meeting.
