Han Zheng meets Deloitte global chairman
上海专业服务业发展潜力巨大 韩正会见美国德勤有限公司全球主席
SHANGHAI Party Secretary Han Zheng met David Cruickshank, chairman of Deloitte, a global provider of audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management, tax and related services, on Monday.
Han said China is deepening reforms and Shanghai is following the guidelines of the central government to make the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone a pioneer in opening.
He said as the country’s opening widens, more foreign companies will open branches in China and more Chinese companies will invest overseas. All this will increase demand for professional services.
Han noted that the service industry now accounts for 65 percent of Shanghai’s GDP but high-end service companies represent a small portion of the city’s service industry. There is a huge potential for high-end service providers.
Deloitte has achieved remarkable business growth in Shanghai and China. Han said he hopes Deloitte can cooperate closely with the Shanghai government to help local Chinese enterprises to invest overseas.
Cruickshank said Deloitte’s business expanded the fastest in China than in other places worldwide. The Chinese market is extremely important for Deloitte.
He said Deloitte can provide talent support and innovation services to Chinese companies that want to invest overseas. The company will participate in Shanghai’s drive to become an international center of finance, economy, trade and shipping as well a global innovation center.
Deloitte opened an office in Shanghai as early as 1917 and is the world’s largest business service network in terms of revenue and number of professionals. Its China headquarters is located in Shanghai and it is a member of the government think tank to promote Shanghai as an international financial center. Deloitte is also the first world-famous service provider to open an office in Shanghai FTZ.
