Traffic cop killed after car knocks him down

A POLICE officer was killed last night after he was knocked down by a car.
The officer, Mao Shengquan, tried to stop a red BMW SUV when it took a left turn from a wrong lane at about 5:30pm at the junction of Wuzhong Road and Hongmei Road. The vehicle knocked down Mao and drove off from the scene. The 32-year-old officer’s wife is pregnant and was due to deliver next month, according to xinmin.cn. The driver, Sun Haojie, was later caught by the police.
