The Bund ‘is not your bed’
MORE police and urban management officers have begun patrolling the Bund area at night to stop those who lie on the ground or sleep on the Huangpu riverbank due to the scorching temperatures.
A large number of people have recently been found staying on the Bund, often behaving badly, the Bund management office said in a statement yesterday.
Tourists have complained there is an increasing number of people, including some half-naked men, sleeping overnight on the Bund.
They lie along the sightseeing deck or wooden benches to enjoy the cooler wind on the riverfront.
Some even bring tents and luggage to sleep over with families. Some pictures online show plastic bottles and trash piled beside some sleepers.
