Porsche vandal held

A MAN who jumped on top of a Porsche and stamped on it during a dispute with the driver of another car after he’d been drinking has been detained and faces paying compensation of more than 40,000 yuan (US$6,511), Minhang District police said yesterday.

A car owner had discovered the man, surnamed Shen, leaning against his vehicle one night recently. The two argued, during which Shen leapt on top of another car — the Porsche — damaging it. Afterward, Shen went back home with friends. But the Porsche owner later returned and reported the incident to Minhang police. Shen was later identified by officers with the help of surveillance camera footage.
