H&M reviews fitting rooms after woman complains of male guard's intrusion into her cubicle

SWEDISH fashion brand H&M said yesterday it will improve management in its fitting rooms after a woman claimed that a male security guard pulled opened the cloth curtain of her cubicle without asking while she was trying on clothes last week.

“We will also report the issue to our headquarters in Sweden and suggest an improvement of our fitting room design by, for example, adding hooks to the curtain, said a public relations manager at H&M, surnamed Zhou.

She also said that the company has alerted police to investigate the customer’s claims.

The 22-year-old woman, surnamed Pan, said a male guard intruded at about 9:30pm last Thursday.

He later explained that he was there to collect clothes hangers left in the fitting room, Pan’s mother, surnamed Ni told Shanghai Daily.

H&M stores around the world have just a skimpy curtain hanging from above on the entrance of the fitting room cubicle.
