Gang ‘burgled 50 flats’
A GANG of six burglars alleged to have broken into more than 50 apartments through their windows this year were detained recently, city police said yesterday. Officers said the gang had climbed up balconies and air conditioner frames to break into more than 50 properties in the Pudong New Area and Baoshan, Yangpu, Hongkou and Jiading districts. Their haul included mobile phones, tablet computers, gold items and cash, according to the police. Five suspects were detained on February 13, while the sixth, said to be the driver, was detained the following day. Police said that their investigations are continuing.
