Ex-judge jailed for corruption

WANG Kangwu, former deputy director of Shanghai Arbitration Commission, has been jailed for six and half years for receiving nearly 6.7 million yuan (US$1 million) in bribes.

Wang committed bribery between 1994 and 2011, when he was judge of Shanghai’s middle and high courts, deputy director of district court of Jing’an, and senior arbitration official, according to the Xuhui District People’s Court.

He took advantage of his posts and sought profits for others, the court said. He was also fined 400,000 yuan.
