Elevated highway

Shanghai plans to build an elevated highway along the Jungong Road in Yangpu and Baoshan districts to relieve traffic congestion in the area. The new 7.8-kilometer highway will start from the Xiangyin Road on the city’s Middle Ring Road and connect to the Yixian Road elevated highway in Hongkou District. After the highway is completed, drivers in Hongkou, Yangpu and Baoshan will be able to reach Pudong through the Jungong Road Tunnel and drive back to Puxi through the Yan’an Road E. Tunnel to reach downtown.
