City offers aid to migrants wanting work

THE annual government campaign to help people from outside Shanghai to find jobs in the city will be launched today with a job fair in Jiading District, human resources and social security officials said.

The campaign, named “Spring Breeze Action,” will run until the end of March with more than 40 job fairs and policy consultation events for migrant workers across the city.

This year, the first job fair will take place at the district employment promotion center, where similar events will also be held every Friday from February 24 to March 24.

As in previous years, public service advertisements will be put up in the north square of Shanghai Railway Station so migrant workers can see relevant information when they arrive in the city.

Jing’an and Baoshan districts will also organize the fifth annual special job fair for migrant workers in the square on Tuesday.

There will be an exclusive job fair in Putuo District for female migrant workers on March 10.
