9 firms blacklisted
NINE companies have been placed on a blacklist for evading import tariffs in the 2009-13 period, Shanghai Customs said yesterday.
The firms, which owed between 280,000 (US$45,000) and 2.1 million yuan apiece, are the first to be put on a “discreditable” list since changes to national customs regulations were introduced last month. The companies, including Shanghai Junsen International Trading Ltd, were held criminally liable as they evaded taxes by claiming false items, lower prices and providing fake documents when importing food and beverages, baby products, wood, machines and other goods.
