Wet weather forecast for festival

THE first week of the Shanghai Tourism Festival is expected to be wet with dark clouds hovering the entire week with drop in temperatures as well.

The frequent showers brought by the collaboration of low pressure and cold airs will keep the heat out and keep the mercury ranging between 21 and 28 degrees Celsius, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said yesterday.

Locals and visitors who want to enjoy the various tourism festival events will have to keep a close eye on weather forecasts and accordingly visit indoor or outdoor tourism spots.

Today is likely to be dry and clear with warmer temperatures fluctuating between 23 and 28 degrees. Skies will darken late today.

The city will be hit by a few showers tomorrow, along with a 2-degree dip in temperature.

A similar weather has been forecast for Wednesday but on Thursday, the showers might last for the entire day.

Despite some rain in the morning, it will be generally cloudy on Friday.

The mercury on Thursday and Friday are forecast to be a bit cooler between 21 and 25 degrees, forecasters said.
