Police quiz ‘knife man’ over Metro taunts
METRO police said yesterday they have spoken to a man who posted images of himself carrying a backpack full of weapons while standing beside a subway security guard.
In a series of posts made on Monday evening under the Weibo account “Cheka-jiqiangtianshi,” the person seemingly wanted to taunt officials about lax security.
In one post he showed a backpack loaded with two knives and a baton, with the words: “I’m going in. I wonder who dares to inspect me.”
Despite his attempts to stir up intrigue, police said the man hadn’t actually passed through a security check at Line 7’s Shanghai University station where the images were taken.
Dangerous items, such as guns, knives and explosive substances are banned from the subway network.
