If you like it wet and grey, you’re in luck

ANYONE hoping for a little respite from the wet and grey weather this weekend should prepare for disappointment, forecasters said yesterday.
The cool and damp conditions are set to remain until the start of next week, with temperatures unlikely to rise above 30 degrees Celsius before then, the weather bureau said.
Drizzle and dark skies are likely today, while tomorrow will be mostly cloudy during the day and wet at night.
The rain will continue into Sunday, when there is also a reasonable chance of thunder and lightning, forecasters said.
Temperatures between today and Monday should range between 24 and 30 degrees, before rising into the low thirties on Tuesday.
The showers should fade away by late Monday, though skies will remain overcast, they said.
Based on the Chinese lunar calendar, tomorrow marks the end of the summer’s “dog days.” But the bureau advised that there are likely still lots more sultry days ahead, despite the ancient forecasts.
Chongming County was among the wettest places in Shanghai yesterday, seeing up to 40 millimeters of rain in some parts. The Pudong New Area, and Baoshan and Jiading districts also saw significant downpours, the bureau said.
