Construction begins on Line 9 extension

CONSTRUCTION of the eastern extension of Metro Line 9 started recently and will be completed in 2017.

The 13.8-kilometer extension will add nine stations in the Pudong New Area.

Commuters can transfer to Line 14 at Biyun Road Station and Line 12 at Jinhai Road Station.

Line 9 already connects Pudong to downtown Madang Road, Xujiahui and Yishan Road before veering southwest to Songjiang District.
