Science authority signs agreement with leading publisher to develop big data database for talents, experts

THE city’s science authority signed cooperation agreement with the world’s largest publisher for science, technology and medicine in the city today in order to develop a big data database of local scientific research talents and world leading experts.

The database jointly launched by Shanghai Research and Development Public Service Platform and Holland-based Elsevier is to better serve scientific talents, institutes, companies and the public.

Information from the both parties will collaborate to share information of talents.

The database with information of local big scientific devices, high-end scientific talents and major scientific research bases will be fulfilled by the end of 2018 to streamline the city’s plan of building itself into an innovation center and attracting more scientific talents, officials said.

“We estimate that the database will include information of 80,000 local talents and 30,000 top global experts with strict requirement on their achievement, influence and awards to give reference for any employers and government for talent introduction,” said Tan Ruizong, director of the city’s R&D platform.

“Each talent will have an individual file on the database for free check.”
