Medical consultation for locals

THE Shanghai Health and Family Planning Commission has arranged for free medical consultation for citizens at 14 institutions on Sunday ahead of the World Hepatitis Day on July 28.
Ruijin Hospital and Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center will offer one-year free check-ups for about 400 hepatitis C patients.
“People with hepatitis C can register on our official WeChat account,” an official with the center said. “We will also offer gene tests to the patients which can help in their treatment.”
The commission said Shanghai’s free hepatitis B vaccine injection covers almost all its permanent residents, while migrant children also receive the free shots. Shanghai has nearly 1.6 million hepatitis B carriers and more than 100,000 infected with hepatitis C.
