Maternity hospital to set up ‘patient commission’
THE Shanghai No. 1 Maternity and Child Health Hospital is looking for “patient representatives” to help it improve the quality of its service.
To be eligible for selection to the new commission, people must either have been a patient or had a baby at the hospital, it said yesterday.
The scheme, which is the first of its kind in the country, is designed to help build a bridge between the hospital and its patients. It is being launched in response to the growing number of complaints about bad service at state-owned hospitals.
“We are keen to hear from the representatives, expats included, and will consider what they have to say,” said Dr Duan Tao, the hospital’s president.
People can apply by e-mailing yfyshichang@126.com before June 18, and the commission will be established before the end of the month.
