Disney jobs fair to open next week
SHANGHAI Disney will stage the first in a series of jobs fairs next week as it seeks to recruit thousands of workers for its new theme park, the company said yesterday.
The recruitment event will run from October 21 to 24 at the Shanghai Talent Tower in Zhabei District, although anyone interested in attending should first register via the website SHDRCareers.com, it said.
Disney did not say exactly how many positions are up for grabs, but claimed opportunities will be available in a range of areas, from operating and maintaining rides, to working in catering, security or retail.
More than 1,500 people have already been recruited to work at the theme park, which is set to open next year, it said.
Meanwhile, the resort is expected to receive 10 million annual visitors after its opening, 95 percent to be Chinese visitors, Cheng Fang, vice president with the Shanghai Shendi Group that holds 57 percent of the resort’s shares told a forum over the weekend.
