Jiao Tong University sets up institute for philanthropy development
SHANGHAI Jiao Tong University yesterday set up an institute for philanthropy development to carry out researches and provide professional guidance for charity organizations after China's first charity law came into effect in September.
There are more than 600,000 officially registered social organizations in China, but many lack professional operation experience, said the university.
The institute will promote healthy and sustainable development of charity organizations with professional knowledge and practice experiences under legal framework, it said.
It will also cultivate comprehensive talents for charity research and build up a professional think tank for charity development.
It will also introduce international charity programs or resources to promote China's philanthropy course.
