Program Code: 0909346130605005

A TAXI crashed onto a busy sidewalk and hit the entrance of an underground pass this afternoon in downtown Jing'an District. No one was reportedly injured.

There were two men onboard the cab – the taxi driver and a passenger. The two were not injured.

The cab, which landed on Changde Road close to the Jing'an Temple, was towed away soon. Police are still investigating the accident.

The entrance, severely damaged in the accident, is also linked to an entrance of Metro Line 2's Jing'an Temple station.

A witness said the cab veered towards the sidewalk after it tried to avoid crashed into another vehicle.

A vendor who was in the underpass at the time of the crash said he saw the taxi had a flat tire.
