EXHIBITS at the second China International Import Expo, due to run from tomorrow to November 10 in Shanghai, has attracted huge attention.
This year’s event has a total exhibition area of 360,000 square meters, up from 300,000 square meters last year.
The larger space has allowed companies to bring more innovative products to the venue and to show more quality services. We have highlighted a few to give a taste of the cutting-edge technologies related to our daily lives. Later on, Shanghai Daily reporters will visit the exhibition areas and take a closer look.
Paper Coating Solution
Dow, the world-leading materials science company headquartered in the US, is to introduce over 50 products at the second CIIE that will enable a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle for Chinese consumers.
The Rhobarr 320 Barrier Coating is one such product. It has polyolefin dispersions providing a paper coating solution for recyclable straws and cups.
The Dow paper coating solution provides oil, acid, cold and hot water resistance to paper straw and cup, which are classified as recyclable.
Black Diamond Piano
The Steinway Black Diamond Limited Edition’s pristine silhouette and sonorous tonality is a perfect match for an incomparable pianist who musically expresses the inexpressible.
Dakota Jackson, the award-winning designer of the Steinway Limited Edition, takes inspiration from the theory that black diamonds are extraterrestrial in origin — the result of an exploding supernova.

Total Solution for Connected Warehouse
Themed on “The Future is What Make It,” Honeywell is exhibiting over 30 top products, including connected aircraft, connected building, connected manufacturing, connected distribution center, safety solutions and efficiency, among which the total solution of connected warehouse is the first launch in China. It reveals Honeywell’s innovative capabilities to support customers to better serve China’s booming new retail industry.
The Loop Sortation System covers various sorters and allows customization, applicable for products in different shapes, sizes and weights. During the whole automated process from goods storage, to goods return, exchange and delivery, Honeywell sorting technology helps customers get their packages delivered, fast, precisely and efficiently.
LTO Ultrium8 Data Cartridge
Fujifilm will debut its newest generation of data cartridge, the LTO Ultrium8 Data Cartridge, in China at the second CIIE.
Since the launch of LTO1 in 2000, Fujifilm has consistently developed high-performance and quality magnetic tapes with large data capacity.
The 8th-generation LTO Ultrium offers a storage capacity of 30TB, twice the capacity of the previous generation. It is also capable of transferring data at 750MB/sec.
In the future, Fujifilm LTO Ultrium8 Data Cartridge is to engage in AI/IoT-based smart manufacturing.
Multiple Innovative Vaccines
Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccines division of French pharma giant Sanofi, will showcase its multiple innovative vaccine products developed with world-leading technologies as well as an “All Scenario Protection” vaccine solution.
The vaccine provides protection against influenza and responds to influenza outbreaks more effectively. It can be produced within two months using the genetic recombination techniques, whereas the current vaccine production process requires six months
