Man detained after allegedly raping woman

A man was detained in Putuo District for allegedly raping a woman, police said today.
The man, surnamed Jiang, was said to have first met the victim, surnamed Liu, at a property agent’s office on March 22. Jiang later invited Liu, who formerly worked as a model, to dinner on March 30 to discuss a job opportunity to model on a television shopping channel, said police.
Afterwards, Jiang lured Liu back to his house, where authorities said he sexually assaulted her and threatened her not to call the police.
The following day, Liu contact the authorities, who apprehended Jiang at his home soon afterward, said police.
