Images of fare dodgers on subway may be exposed via the city's metro operator's Weibo as latest efforts to prevent fare evasion, the metro operator said Thursday.

Meanwhile a two-month crackdown campaign on fare evasion is to be launched soon.

The pictures of the evasion will be taken through all stations of the 14 metro lines with some to be released randomly. Only the dodgers not spotted at the scene might be exposed online.

“I oppose the exposure! It’s against people’s privacy,” a netizen identified as “scott_cheung” said on Weibo.

Yet supporters also think it’s will be an effective restrictions against the ticket dodgers. As of 2pm, nearly 40 percent of 1184 interviewees think the new plan will be a useful public supervision on fare evasion while some 10 percent have concerns about privacy issue.
