Annual session of Shanghai People’s Congress opens today
SHANGHAI aims at an “around 6.5” percent year-on-year economic growth for 2017, with improvement in both growth quality and production efficiency, Mayor Yang Xiong said when delivering the government work report at the opening of the annual session of the Shanghai People’s Congress.
The fiscal income for public expenditure is expected to increase 7 percent this year, and the input of research and development will continue to account for more than 3.8 percent of the city’s economic output., Yang said.
The city will strive to create 500,000 new jobs this year, and control the registered urban unemployment rate within 4.4 percent, Yang said.
